Contract for Fishing on The Coyote

A deposit of $100 is to reserve the COYOTE for the date(s) below. The balance of $_____ is due at the time of trip. Mail deposit to: Captain Ron Lajda; P.O. Box 366; Cutchogue, NY 11935.   Minimum recommended tip for the mate is an additional 20% of the trip rate.

1. Deposit: Please forward the deposit and a signed copy of this agreement to the address below within 7 days.  A deposit of $100 per trip is required. Checks should be made payable to  J.A. House Fishing LLC. The party has the right to cancel any trip up to 2 weeks prior to the scheduled date with full refund of the deposit. The deposit will be forfeited if the trip is canceled with less than 2 weeks notice.

2. Sailing time: Charters will depart rain or shine at a predetermined time. Times may change slightly for tide and weather conditions.

3. Termination of trip: a) It is understood that the Captain shall be in charge of the vessel at all times. Conduct on the part of the party that in the Captain’s discretion may jeopardize the safety of the vessel or personnel on board, shall be cause for the Captain to terminate the charter and return to the dock. In the event the charter is terminated in this manner, the full charter price shall nevertheless be due. b) In the event the Captain, in his discretion, cancels a trip due to inclement weather, the Captain will attempt to reschedule an alternate day. If this is impossible he will return the deposit. c) The Captain reserves the right to cancel any trip in the event of mechanical failure or illness of the crew or weather. The fee for the trip will be pro-rated based on the hours of the trip actually completed. d ) If the party does not arrive by one hour after the reserved time, the trip will be cancelled and the deposit forfeited. 

4. Alcohol: Beer in limited quantities is permitted on board.  Absolutely no liquor or drugs are allowed on board at any time; please advise members of your party of this matter prior to the trip.

5. Tackle: The very best tackle is provided. Any outfit lost overboard or destroyed will be charged to the party.

6. Fish: All fish caught are the property of the party. The exception is any tuna that the party elects to sell; the Captain will sell these using his commercial food fish license and the charter will receive 50% of the money.

7. Food: Clients are responsible to supply their own food and beverages.

8. Photographs: J. A. House Fishing LLC  may use photographs taken on charters for advertising.

9. Rates: Half day (4 hours) - $600; 6 hours - $700; Full day (8 hours) - and night (6 hours or limit) - $800; Cod trip - $850; Tuna (12 hours) $1200 (additional $100 for chunking bait).

10. Fuel Surcharge: Due to aberrant increases in fuel prices, a surcharge of $50 will be assessed on trips where the one way distance is greater than 15 nm and an additional surcharge of up to $50 may be added if the price of fuel exceeds $3.25/ gallon.
